I’m happy to receive QUERIES about guest posting from experienced writers and publishing professionals.
I am not looking for posts about how to promote writing, how to build an author brand, marketing tips, building a following, etc. I am only interested in posts that provide information that helps writers improve their writing.
Your bio and links to your website/social media/publisher will appear below the post. That’s the only appropriate place for self-promotion in this instance.
Here are some examples of posts that work very well, but this is not a template. Your post should reflect your own personality and passion. Whimsical, lyrical, academic, pedantic…you do you.
Writing Down the Rows by Julie Herman
Ten Scary Things I’ve Heard in Writers’ Groups by Raine Reiter
The Mindful Writer by Dinty W Moore
To submit a query:
Pitch your ideas using the Contact form on this website. Include:
- your proposed topic
- if you’re a writer, links to at least two of your written works online (blogs, journals, whatever) (If your writing appears exclusively in print, let me know where.)
- if you’re a publishing professional, tell me where you’ve worked, with whom, and what you did
- your bio, no more than 80 words
- links to your website/blog/author page/social media
If your proposal is a good fit for my blog, I’ll send instructions for submitting the finished piece.
Your guest post must be original and not previously published anywhere, not even on your own blog.
There is no charge to submit, and neither is there payment for your post. Your post helps me add fresh content to my site, and publication of your post on my site exposes you to new readers.
